In response to the post on Arockalypse (or, Just let your sole glow!)
Saw this post on Arockalypse today regarding "our homie Tre."
Not sure if I've ever met Tre before, he doesn't look familiar from the photograph. Doesn't matter really. What size shoes does this kid wear???
Because if those are the shoes he's fucking skating in right now (AND IF he can wear 9 or 9.5) I've got at least a couple pairs of shoes he can have. They ain't brand new but they sure as shit don't look THAT bad. So, y'know, holler or somethin'. Peace!
Here's a couple I shot with the iPhone today, I'm sure T-Bird will be extra excited to see his dorkin around up on the interwebs (insert sarcasm). But hey, I gotta stay up in this futuristic filming game, gnomesayin'?!
My iPhone 3GS video recording/uploading experiment
As you may or may not know the new iPhone 3GS has a video camera that records at a full 30fps. Inside the camera application it also has a dedicated button for uploading to YouTube, provided you have a YouTube account.
So the other night I met up with Rob at the 10-stair on 63rd and Broadway. With no intentions of skating it "for real" or for clips or whatever, Rob just went up to the top and 180'd it straight away. I captured it with my iPhone and hit the "Upload to YouTube" button.
Rob and I walked to our vehicles, got in and discussed where to actually go skating. I pulled out my phone to check the publishing status and found it already available on my YouTube page! Before we even left the parking lot! I have to say that is a pretty bad-ass feature to have on a phone. It completely ups the ante for getting the "first!" status of a new spot or trick. I wonder how much of this we will see in the near future.
I started watching Thrasher's new video "Beer Slave" yesterday, and noticed a few of the clips showed some OKC ditch footy. I guess Corey Duffel and Hewitt and some other dudes came thru on a Route 66 Tour awhile back and hit up some spots. The clip that really freaked me the fuck out is the one below. This spot is no joke man, if you've been there you know what I mean. That trick deserved a fuckin' slow-mo and they didn't do it justice, so I threw one in there to give you a better idea of how sick that fuckin' tailslide is.
I'm tellin' you, that rivals Corey's Ollie from a couple years back.
Also I haven't figured out exactly who that is, so if anybody knows leave it in the comments. Or I'll put it in here once I figure it out.
