Sightings of a Mad Man

This is my friend Rob Aaron. Somehow he managed to connect the nose of his board to the
ceiling above this ramp. It was pretty fucking insane looking. Rob loves skateboarding, maybe
even more than anyone else I know.

The Many Voices of Oklahoma (I hate ***ggers)

If you ever wonder what other people or bloggers in Oklahoma City and surrounding areas are blogging (I've decided that I hate the words "blogger" and "blogging") about but are too lazy to peruse the 600+ options on Blogger alone, now is the time to rejoice! I have taken it upon myself to find out what's going on around here. And let me tell you it's not much.

For the first(and maybe only) featured OKC blog of this series I present Mickey McTool and his blog entitled The Possibility of One Man. He is an angry man, angry mostly at either blacks or whites who tolerate blacks. Let it be known that I by no means endorse or agree with Mr. McTool and the censored word in my title is "bloggers" and not, you know, the n-word. Whatever.

Close..... But no Ciggy Butt

I really wanted to land this kickflip, but the creator of the universe didn't.
The landing was a five square foot oil spill, probably
from some big dumb truck. Every time I caught it and put it down, my board would slide
out from under me. I left this place pissed off and covered in oil.
It was bullshit.

Random Good-Ass Clip

Don't know who's in it.

Dan Santiago filmed/edited it?

Saw it on Slap.

Real good stuff.

The Hellevator!

Recently Bibb and I scored a sweet gig working the elevators during the Open House's every week for some spare change.
Our work is selling the condo's that are now open in the Founders Tower. It's pretty much just High dollar living with a view. Anyways.....I took a tour up to the rotating top floor, scarfed down some free shrimp, had a brew, and took some pic's. While I was shooting photos a caterer told me, "one time, i was getting a party ready on the top floor when all of a sudden, I saw a big shadow fly over the building, and to my surprise, it turned out to be a base jumper had leaped off of the building and landed in a tree down below breaking both his legs." "True Story!" he says. Pssssh! Yeah Right Guy! HELLEVATOR!

Whatever Happened To......

Chad-to-fakie?  Does anyone remember him?

Well, I'm trying out this program I got called MPEG Streamclip, which converts my digi-cam movies into Quicktime clips real quick-like.  It's pretty bad-ass so far and here's an example. I converted this from some fucked up 320x240 .avi that won't play properly on my Mac to a full-size 720x480 raw edit QT clip that's only 7 Mbs.

And it's Chad-to-fakie.  That's why I was wondering if anyone remembered him...
video
by the way, that clip is super old, like at least 3? or 4? years old?
Anyway, that's pretty good right there.  I don't ever see anyone at the park hucking half-cabs like that down the bank to this day.

More to come...

The Reason Geoff Rowley is Awesome

That. Right. There. is the reason.
Click it, make it bigger and just take it all in.
How does it make you feel?
What about the composition do you like? What about Rowley's mental state?
How about the pairing of black and white photography and an industrial setting?
Please write me an essay on this image and turn it in via the comments.

Upon viewing the above photo for the first time, I was reminded of the giant hole in the side of my skate shoes. I began to wonder what kind of new Vans they have at Arockalypse right now. So...guess what new Vans they have?  None!  That's right, none! So I got right down do it and found out why.......

There you go. I hope they come before the winter does. Goodbye.

He said what? No more video?

I've noticed lately that there's lots of kids around the OKC with cameras filming for videos and whatnot.  Some pretty tight crews roaming the streets these days.  I keep noticing local spots in montages that I've never seen before.  This never used to be the case, we used to know all the spots in all the 'hoods from North to South, East to West.

Well, like 'ol Dylan used to say, the times they are a'changin.  And with all these new up-and-comers uhhh, up and coming, I've come to a decision.  I'm no longer making another TDS skateboard video.  That's right, you heard it here first.  Actually this is probably the only place you'll hear it. Regardless, that's the deal. It brings a tear to my eye, but a smile to my heart to know that I don't have to deal with this anymore.

On the Mend

So im still recovering from a recent hernia surgery which obviously means no skatey for me till im healed up. But anyways, i've been getting reacquainted with being behind the lens again. Filming more, shooting pic's, just basic lurking with a camera now. Yeah, i was downtown with Mitch and Dan on Saturday. I tried out the multi shot setting on my work camera. Here's the only one that turned out right, and don't laugh at my photoshopped in strip of negatives. Just for looks people, just for looks. This ledge is get'n pretty buttery. Word is it grinds like shit though, the locals are usually quite skateboarder friendly, and check out the complementary crackers and apple sauce. What a nice spot......to poop on!

Classic Moves!!!!!!

Jesse Kees is straight out of Baton Rouge. He came to visit me this weekend
in the "Hell Hole". At first I thought, "why is Jesse driving all the way over here
just to hang out with me?" Then I realized that he brought with him some newly
constructed frontside indy grabs. If I'm correct, they will motivate others
to do the same.

Fuck all the bullshit.
